LONDON – From today, users of Muse in the US – the new personal AI agent from Meta – can now search, book and manage holidays through Muse via an integration with travel-tech infrastructure leader, Duffel.
Muse is a new personal AI agent from Meta that gets things done across every part of a user's life. Each user creates their own Muse – a personalised agent with a name, look and personality – and can ask it to book travel (via the Duffel connector), manage productivity tasks, keep on top of finances, support health and wellness goals and handle shopping on their behalf.
By embedding Duffel’s API into the Muse app and muse.ai website, users can tell their agent where and when they want to travel and what they’re looking for. Muse can then search and compare live inventory and real-time prices across Duffel’s platform which includes access to 500+ airlines.
From there, users can manage their trip using the Duffel integration with Muse, from validating fares to handling cancellations and disruptions. Duffel also provides 24/7 support, giving users access to travel experts whenever they need human help.
The rise of AI travel
Modern travelers are looking to AI to guide and execute their buying choices in every sector, including tourism. While agent-led travel commerce is a nascent field, its adoption is accelerating rapidly; industry experts at IDC project that agentic AI will power nearly a third of all international reservations by the end of the decade.
Yet travel remains one of the most complex tests for AI; a single booking requires dozens of API calls, identity checks, payment processing and ticketing – and that’s before anything goes wrong.
Rather than relying on scraping, browser automation or static data, Duffel's API gives companies – including AI agents like Muse – direct and live access to these complex systems, allowing AI to carry out travel transactions reliably and at scale. It is this kind of trusted, infrastructure-grade access that brands are increasingly turning to Duffel for, a demand that recently saw Duffel surpass $1bn in TTV run rate, with AI platforms now among its fastest-growing customer segments.
Steve Domin, co-founder and CEO of Duffel, said: "Travel is the ultimate stress test for an AI agent. It’s dynamic, complex and deeply personal and when something goes wrong, the consequences are real. We built Duffel to handle that complexity at scale. AI is rapidly becoming one of the biggest new distribution channels in travel, and in becoming a connector to Meta’s Muse it’s the clearest demonstration yet that making it work requires infrastructure that can reliably deliver."
Muse is available from today at muse.ai and via the Muse app on iOS and Android, starting with users in the US with more regions to follow in the coming months.
